Harry Potter and my Last Goodbye

Hahaha. Super! Nakakasad. Parang it’s an official way of saying my kiddie and teeny generation just ended and I need to start acting like an adult. Hahaha!

Anyway, in the future, when somebody will be talking about it, I’ll be proud to shout, “panahon ko ‘yan!”. When I was halfway buying our tickets, I’m a little teary. Yeah, mushy and irrational as it may seem. But, really, I’m a little sad because I know I’m gonna miss it. The excitement whenever a new HP movie will be out so soon. The characters that in one way have touched my heart and for sure will be part of my life forever. The thickest books I ever read — bar none. Hahaha.

Whatever others will say. Whether no values in the story, magic and wizards aren’t true, the generation I belong was overpowered by the stupid horcruxes and dreamy land. I really don’t care. For me, it’s more of the fact that my generation, all over the world, has a memory of a land and a boy that touched them in different ways.

I’m not gonna go through a debate with others, though. Harry Potter is gonna be as lame as any other books and movies in the future. Next generation may laugh at some of us for liking these stuff. But, who cares? We have had the best avenue of being at our most imaginative thinking. We’ve done our share in making one of the “coolest” history successful.

More than anything, Harry Potter had made it’s way to make the whole world escape from it’s dreadfulness. We, of HP’s generation, were united by a far away land and its magical creations. We were inspired in one way or another. I’m not sure if all people of my generation feel the same way I feel. But, for me, HP will always be kept not just in my memory — but in my heart for the rest of my life.

“Thank you for encouraging a generation of people to read” -someone from the HP premier night in London.
